An artist and dreamer who paints contemporary abstract expressionist works, Mary is a child of the 70s who loves color and motion. She did not pick up a paint brush until she was in her 50s, and is quickly emerging as one of the preeminent abstract artists in the Tampa Bay area.
One of her passions is collecting Native American art, looking to the galleries of Canyon Road in Santa Fe, New Mexico for inspiration. Likewise, much of the art she creates exudes strong references to the southwest in colors and shapes as she longs to return often and remain connected to beautiful Santa Fe.
Beyond abstract expressionism, one can find that Mary’s talent also extends to painting flowers and landscapes. Her paintings are explorations of color, shape, texture and the tools that create them. “I paint what inspires me, makes me laugh, and brings me joy. I allow the images to unfold and evolve as I paint.”
Wife, mother, and grandmother (“Gigi” to three amazing grandchildren), Mary is also a prolific painter and rising star of the Tampa Bay area art community. She is a member of Tampa Regional Artists, Professional Association of Visual Artists (PAVA), Professional Association of Acrylic Painters, and the International Society of Acrylic Painters (ISAP), and she has exhibited her work in numerous galleries and venues throughout the Tampa Bay area.
